We begin today's transportation-focused update with a look at Uber's announcement that it acquired Otto and will partner with Volvo in order to have an autonomous vehicle by 2021. We then discuss the various reports indicating that a number of tech companies, including Apple, were approached by Lyft for acquisition talks. We go over this news from the perspective of Apple. The email concludes with a deep dive into Ford's new master plan for the next five to 10 years involving autonomous driving and ridesharing.
