We kick things off with new smartphone shipment data out of China for CY1Q20 (January to March). The discussion goes over how I think the data is best used and what it tells us (and doesn’t tell us) about the iPhone business. We then cover a few interesting observations that I have regarding iPhone sales share in China. The update concludes with a discussion of the paid video space and how Apple is making a portion of its Apple TV+ catalog free for all. We go over two things that come to mind regarding the news and the effectiveness of these promotions during a pandemic.
