We begin today’s update with a continuation of last week’s discussion regarding Apple’s Find My Network being expanded to include third-party devices. One of the initiative’s launch partners was pretty forthcoming when it came to describing its Apple partnership. There are a number of interesting takeaways worth going over regarding a feature that has the potential of being quite significant. We also discuss my thinking behind Apple’s Find My network eventually becoming more of a Tag My network.

When I listen to Tim Cook talk about Apple’s commitment to the environment, he says that Apple is working toward the point where they will not take anything out of the earth in order to make their products. Electric cars require large batteries, and it seems unlikely that Apple can make battery powered cars without taking anything out of the earth. That makes me think that Apple may be planning a car driven by hydrogen fuel cells or something like that. What do you think?

Do you foresee features such as Snap’s Local Lenses, Landmarkers and City Painter eventually being built on top of Apple’s location layers? Will companies such as Snap be motivated to build their own cross platform equivalent to “location layers” functionality?
Although Snap may not be converting many users from older age groups, the data may point to them expanding into those age groups as their existing users age into them. This suggests they will have modest annual growth but long and steady growth. Is that a reasonable interpretation?
