The discussion then turns to three things Apple accomplishes by expanding its Independent Repair Provider Program. We conclude with why it is appropriate to treat news of Foxconn contemplating electric vehicle contract manufacturing in the U.S. with some hesitation.

Some are now questioning share buybacks altogether. With Apple representing a sizable portion of overall buyback activity in the market, the company is dependent on share buyback to remove excess cash from the balance sheet. The discussion then goes over how share buyback is not created equal and how buyback may make more sense for some companies.
