Latest App Store Trends, Mac Pro to Be Assembled in China, The Intricacies Found with Apple News+

Today's Above Avalon daily update includes the following stories:

  • Latest App Store Trends

  • Mac Pro to Be Assembled in China

  • The Intricacies Found with Apple News+

We kick off today's update by discussing new App Store revenue estimates from Sensor Tower.

With Apple earnings a few weeks away, now is the time to start collecting FY3Q19 (April to June) data and numbers. My stance is that a mosaic theory is useful – taking a number of data points and estimates from various places that have a good track record. This means that we end up elevating numbers from Kantar and Sensor Tower while mostly ignoring Gartner, IDC, etc. (who end up publishing their estimates after the fact anyway).

We then shift over to the Mac Pro and conclude with a corollary worth pursuing related to Apple News+ following yesterday's update.

Today's Above Avalon daily update includes the following stories:

  • Don't Ignore Marc Newson
